According to a news release from The Food Bank, for every $2 donated, six meals can be provided to our neighbors.

$3 donation helps feed a child in need for a weekend through the Food Bank’s Back Pack program.

$5 donation will provide $28 worth of food for a family in need.

This has been a difficult year for many families and the projections from Feeding America shows that the need for food will increase in 2021 with 1 in 6 families facing food shortages.

This year the Food Bank of the Southern Tier is offering a Virtual Food Drive to encourage people who are shopping from home due to the pandemic

Food Bank CEO Natasha Thompson said Check Out Hunger is the Food Bank’s largest fundraising campaign of the year. Without support from the community, we wouldn’t be able to continue to meet the needs of our community by distributing food to pantries and meal sites, and through our Mobile Food Pantries and BackPack Program,”
