How You Can Help Save The Southern Tier From Hunger [GALLERY]
You can help feed the Southern Tier, and all it takes is a few clicks...
One way you can help is by donating during our upcoming Neighbors Feeding Neighbors Food Drive on April 29 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.. All money donated during the drive will go toward the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW).
When we did Neighbors Feeding Neighbors in 2020, the community donated $4,020 to CHOW -- enough for 20,150 meals. That's a lot for the families of our area.
Kids are often times the ones who suffer the most from food insecurity. Those who have limited access to regular, healthy meals tend to do worse in school.
It makes sense. Food is fuel not just for our bodies, but for our brains as well. That goes double for kids, who's brains are still growing.
If you still need convincing about how food insecurity hits the kids of the Southern Tier, maybe this will help.
