New York State Electric and Gas Makes Food Bank Donation
New York State Electric and Gas is helping to feed residents during the pandemic.
NYSEG has donated $50,000 to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
The AVANGRID company says the donation translates into the equivalent of 150,000 meals using the buying power of the regional charity.
NYSEG’s parent company has made a $2-million commitment to support national and local programs that help those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Food Bank of the Southern Tier works with associated agencies like the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse and Catholic Charities to address food insecurity in a multi-county region.
AVANGRID is also making contributions to food banks in Western and Central New York, Rochester and the Northeaster part of New York State.
