The Binghamton Bearcats clinched the regular season America East baseball championship with a doubleheader sweep over the Albany Great Danes in Albany on Saturday.  The Great Danes came back with a 4-3 win over the Bearcats in action today (Sunday).  It is the fifth regular season America East baseball title in the past ten years for Coach Tim Sinicki and the Bearcats.  It gives BU the top seed going into the America East Championship Tournament at the end of the month.

The Bearcats are now 17-4 in the conference and 25-22 overall after the Albany series.  In today's (Sunday's) game Vestal High grad Nick Wegmann started on the mound and went five innings giving up just a single run.  He did not figure in the decision.  catcher Jason Agresti had the big blow in the game for the Bearcats with a three-run double.  Dylan Stock took the loss for Binghamton.

Next up for the Bearcats is a three-game home series against the University of Maine this Friday and Saturday.  Then it is on to Lowell, Massachusetts for the conference tournament beginning on May 25th with the winner advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
