The Binghamton Bearcats are playing the Hartford Hawks in the nightcap of Friday's America East Championship Baseball Tournament at the Bearcats Baseball Complex.  The Bearcats dropped a 5-4 decision to regular season champion Stony Brook earlier in the day.  Then the Hawks eliminated Albany in the second game of the day by a final score of 5-3.

Both the Bearcats and Hawks have one loss in the double-elimination tournament and a loss by either side will send the losers home.  Binghamton owns a tournament win over the Hawks 2-1 and overall the Bearcats are 4-0 against Hartford this season having swept the three-game regular season series.

If the Bearcats win they advance to face Stony Brook at 1:00 P.M on Saturday.  If that scenario unfolds Binghamton would have to defeat Stony Brook in that game to send it to a second game between the two. The tournament winner earns an automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs.
