The Binghamton Bearcats pulled out a dramatic bottom of the ninth inning walk-off win as they defeated the Hartford Hawks 2-1 on the first day of the America East Baseball Championship Tournament at the Bearcats Baseball Complex.  Center fielder Shane Marshall hit a bases-loaded single against a drawn-in infield to plate Jake Evans who was on after hitting an infield single.

The America East Pitcher of the Year Ben Anderson went the distance giving up one run on six hits.  He struck out four Hartford batters to up his record to 9-4.  With a total of 108 strikeouts he is now tied for the third-most single season strikeouts in the history of the conference.  His ninth win establishes a new Binghamton University single season record.

With the win Binghamgton advances to a winner's bracket game on Thursday against second seed Albany.  That game is scheduled for another 2:30 PM starting time.  The Great Danes have been red-hot and have won nine consecutive games including a pair against Binghamton.  America East All-Conference Second Team member Nick Gallagher puts his 3-5 record on line line as he gets the start for the Bearcats.
