It was quite a quarterfinal round of basketball on Saturday for both the men's and women's postseason tournaments.  The Binghamton Bearcats were stunned by the Hartford Hawks who trailed by as many as 14 points late in the third period but staged a huge comeback to oust BU in overtime 72-68.  Number one seed Maine rolled to a 65-43 victory over UMBC.  New Hampshire topped Stony Brook 71-54 despite a game high 24 points from Shania Johnson of the Seawolves.  The number two seed Albany Great Danes eliminated the Vermont Catamounts with a 60-42 decision.  That sets the stage for Sunday's semifinals which begin at 2 PM.  In the first semi-final of the day Maine meets New Hampshire.  That will be followed by a Hartford versus Albany battle in the nightcap scheduled for 4:45 PM.

On the men's side number one seed Vermont stopped the Maine Black Bears with a 75-60 decision.  Stony Brook toppled the Albany Great Danes 69-60 at SEFCU Arena in Albany.  UMBC got 18 points from Jairus Lyles and defeated UMass Lowell 89-77.  Jahad Thomas paced the River Hawks with 18 points.  The Hartford Hawks advance with a 71-60 victory over New Hampshire.  John Carroll continues his hot scoring streak with 21 points and J.R.Lynch notched 19 more for the winners.  Tanner Liessner  hit for 21 points for the Wildcats.

That sets the stage for Tuesday's semifinal round.  Fifth-seed Stony Brook visits the regular season champion Vermont Catamounts and third seed Hartford travels to face the second seed UMBC Retrievers.
