For the second time this season Binghamton Bearcat freshman Brenton Mills has won America East Rookie of the Week honors.  Mills, from Allen, Texas had a big scoring week for the Bearcats.  He averaged 18 points and 5 rebounds for the Bearcats as they want 1-1 with a win over UMBC and a loss at UMass Lowell.

Mills was on fire in the first half of the win over UMBC at the Events Center. He scored 18 points in the first half and finished with a game high of 22 points.  He also hit for double figures with 14 points at UMass Lowell.

Mills has now scored in double figures in four straight games and in 10 of his 16 collegiate games.  Over the last four Bearcat games Mills is averaging 19 points per outing.  For the season Mills is averaging 12.8 points per game which puts him in first place among freshman in scoring in America East.

Mills will look to continue his hot shooting hand on Wednesday night when the Bearcats host the Vermont Catamounts at 7:00 PM at the Events Center (6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).
