Men's basketball in the America East Conference will be well represented in post-season tournament action.  At the top of the list is Vermont.  The regular season and conference tournament champions received an automatic bid from the NCAA to take part in "The Big Dance".  The Catamounts defeated the Albany Great Danes 56-53 Saturday to earn the America East crown.  Vermont is riding the longest winning streak in the nation with 21 consecutive victories. The Catamounts last loss was at Butler on December 21, 2016.

The Catamounts will meet Purdue on Thursday night at 7:27 PM in the Midwest Regional in Milwaukee.  The Boilermakers enter as a fourth seed while Vermont is a 13th seed.  Purdue is 25-7 while the Catamounts are 29-5.  The Boilermakers won the Big 10 regular season championship.

Albany will host St. Peter's Thursday night at 7 PM in the College Insider Tournament.

The Great Danes have won seven of their last nine games and carry a record of 21-13 into the game.  St. Peter's finished at 14-6 in the MAAC Conference and have a 19-13 overall record.

The Stony Brook Seawolves will take part in the College Basketball Invitational.  They will travel to Chicago to face the University of Illinois Chicago on Thursday night.  Stony Brook knocked Binghamton out of the America East Tournament and then lost to Albany.  The Seawolves are 18-13. The UIC Flames are 15-18 and 7-11 in the Horizon League.

The UMBC Retrievers are also headed to the postseason. They will host Fairfield University in suburban Baltimore on Wednesday night in a College Invitation Tournament meeting.  UMBC is one of the nation's most improved teams and carry a record of 18-12 into action.  Fairfield is 18-12 and is a member of the MAAC.
