Binghamton Bearcat standout Sam Sessoms is the America East Rookie of the Year.  Sessoms have had a tremendous freshman season for the Bearcats.  Sessoms enters the conference tournament averaging 18.1 points per game which is third in America East. He scored 20 or more points in 12 games.  He tied a school Division I record with 34 points against Hartford and had a 32-point game against UMass Lowell. He was named the America East Rookie of the Week seven times this season. Along with Rookie of the Week honors Sessoms earned a berth on the All-Rookie Team and was named to the conference's All-Conference Third Team.  He becomes Binghamton second Rookie of the Year.  Dylan Talley won the award in the 2009-10 season.

In addition to Sessoms Binghamton graduate student J.C.Show was named to the Ameica East All-Academic Team.  It is the second consecutive season Show has won the honor. He is earning a Master's Degree in Public Admijnistration and had a 3.87 Grade Point Average last semester.

Vermont's Anthony Lamb is the conference Player of the Year.  Lamb was a unanimous selection.  He leads the conference in scoring with 20.8 points per game.  He also earned First Team All-Conference honors and was named to the All-defensive Team.

Stony Brook's Jeff Otchere is the conference Defensive Player of the Year.  The Sixth Man of the Year is Andrew Garcia from Stony Brook and Vermont's John Becker is the America East Coach of the Year.
