The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team has had quite a week and two young standoutsd have been honored by America East for their contributions to the team's success.  Sophomore Sam Sessoms has won the conference's Player of the Week honors while freshman Brenton Mills has been named America East Rookie of the Week. In addition Sessoms has been named the Binghamton University Miller Auto Team Student-Athlete of the Week.

Sessoms, the reigning America East Rookie of the Year, is off to a red-hot start in his sophomore campaign.  He keyed a Bearcat come-from-behind victory against NJIT with a 33-point effort including 27 points in the second half.  He scored the game-winning basket with 2.2 seconds to go. He also grabbed 12 rebounds for a double-double.Then on Saturday versus Army Sessoms notched 16 points and seven assists to spark the Bearcats to an 88-73 victory.

Freshman Brenton Mills from Allen, Texas averaged 16 points in last week's two games.  He hit for 17 points and a key shot block in the road win over NJIT and then came back with a 15-point effort on Saturday against Army.  He is averaging 10.8 points per game.  He shot 52 percent from the field over the last two games.

Sessoms and Mills lead the Bearcats into a pair of games this week. Binghamton hosts nearby Oneonta on Tuesday night at 7 PM and then travels to Loyola, Maryland for a 6 PM tilt on Sunday. Both games will be broadcast on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
