The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team hosts the UMass Lowell River Hawks on Thursday night at 7:00 PM (air at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  The River Hawks lead America East in points per game averaging 74.1 points per contest.

The Bearcats need a win as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive. BU is 8-17 overall and 2-10 in conference play.  UMass Lowell is 11-16 and 5-7 in America East.  Currently the River Hawks are in sixth place and own an 85-66 win over the Bearcats at the Tsongas Center on January 11.  In their last outing UMass Lowell defeated the Hartford Hawks 74-67 on Saturday.

Thursday's game features three of the top four scorers in the conference.  For the River Hawks Christian Lutete has been having a superb season and is averaging 19.3 points per game...tops in America East. Teammate Obadiah Noel is third in scoring and averages 18.4 points per game.  Bearcat Sam Sessoms ranks fourth with 17.6 points per game.

All-time going back to Division II days the River Hawks own a 13-5 edge in the series.  In games at the Events Center UMass Lowell has a 5-3 advantage.
