The Binghamton Bearcats high-flying freshman Sam Sessoms has earned his America East best sixth Rookie of the Week award.  The conference made the announcement on Monday afternoon.  This ties the Binghamton all-time mark for the number of times a player has won the honor.  Jordan Reed also earned six Rookie of the Week awards in the 2012-13 season.

Sessoms averaged 21.5 points per game, three rebounds and 4.5 assists in two games for the Bearcats last week.  BU went 1-1 with a loss against Stony Brook and a win at New Hampshire.

Sessoms keyed Binghamton's road win in Durham on Saturday.  He scored a game -high 28 points, grabbed five rebounds and earned four assists in keying the Bearcats win.

Sessoms continues to pace the Bearcats in scoring and is averaging 18.1 points per game.  He is shooting 45 percent from the field and has connected on 35 percent of his three-point shots.

Sessoms leads the Bearcats into their next game which is set for the Events Center this Wednesday night at 7:00 P.M when they host the UMBC Retrievers.  The Retrievers are in third place in America East with a record of 7-3.  The Bearcats are tied with Maine for seventh place at 3-7. Airtime for the game on WNBF is set for 6:45 P.M.
