The Binghamton Rumble Ponies defeated the Akron RubberDucks this (Wednesday) afternoon in Akron by a final score of 3-2.  Matt Oberste paced the Ponies to the victory with three hits including the eventual game-winning RBI with a single that drove in Champ Stuart in the eighth inning.

Tim Peterson had a 1-2-3 eighth inning to earn the win on the mound for Binghamton.  He ups his record to 4-3.  Cory Burns turned in his 13th save of the season as he barred the door on the RubberDucks in the ninth inning.

With the win Binghamton ups its record to 56-44, took three of four in Akron and ended the road trip 4-4.  Binghamton is now 19-15 in one-run games.

With 40 games remaining in the regular season the Rumble Ponies return home for seven straight contests starting off with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Thursday night for a 6:35 game.  Following the series with the Fisher Cats Binghamton hosts the Trenton Thunder next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at NYSEG Stadium.
