Rumble Ponies Look for Road Win in Erie
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies look to break a four-game losing streak tonight (Wednesday) in Erie at UPMC Park as they meet the SeaWolves at 7:05 (6:50 on News Radio 1290 WNBF), Last night the Rumble Ponies dropped a 5-4 decision to Erie in ten innings when Derek Hill hit a single to plate the wining marker. Out of Binghamton's four consecutive losses three have come in opponent's walk-off fashion.
In 11 meetings this season the Rumble Ponies hold a 6-5 edge but Erie has won the last five contests .Erie has started out on fire in the second half of the season going 12-2 and they have now won four in a row.
The Rumble Ponies have been going in the opposite direction and are 5-11 with the worst record in the early going of the second half. Overall Binghamton is 40-40 on the season while the SeaWolves are 43-37.
David Peterson gets the start tonight for Binghamton. He is 3-2 and carries an ERA of 4.54. Erie counters with Spenser Watkins who is 2-1 with a 4.08 ERA.
Binghamton returns home for a four-game series with Akron beginning at 6:35 tomorrow (Thursday) night at NYSEG Stadium. The Eastern League takes a break in the regular season schedule next Monday through Wednesday for the circuit's All-Star game in Richmond.
