The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are back in town and begin a four-game series at NYSEG Stadium tonight at 6:35 (air at 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF) when they host the Bowie Baysox.  Bowie is the hottest team in the Eastern League.  The Baysox have the best record in the Eastern League with a 26-7 slate in the second half of the season.  Bowie has won 15 of the last 18 games played.

The Rumble Ponies completed an eight-game road trip with an 8-6 loss in Reading against the Fightin Phils yesterday.  Binghamton finished the road trip with a 5-3 record.  Coming into tonight's game the Rumble Ponies have a record of 17-19 and tied for second place in the Eastern Division tied with Portland 5.5 games behind first-place Reading.

Bowie's pitching has been a big part of their surge.  The Bay Sox just finished a three-game sweep of the Richmond Flying Squirrels.  In that series Baysox pitching gave up just one run.

One of the league's top pitchers Zac Lowther gets the start for Bowie.  He is 11-5 with a 2.64 ERA.  Kevin Smith is Binghamton's scheduled starter and is 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA.
