COVID-19 has wrecked a lot of things. For baseball fans the pandemic has brought sadness as they wait for word about the return of the game we love.  Locally, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies announced Friday that their season opening delay has been extended until at least June 15. Like other Minor League teams the Rumble Ponies have to wait to see what Major League Baseball (MLB) does before they can proceed.

However, you CAN watch the Rumble Ponies this Saturday !  That's right !  FOX 40 (cable channel 3)  will televise a "virtual" game between the Rumble Ponies and New Hampshire Fisher Cats at 2:00 PM. Had the season actually gotten underway fans could be watching the game in person at NYSEG Stadium.  However, with snow showers and a high of 38 it would be tough to watch in the cold outdoor air.  So...you can watch the "virtual" game done via play station in the comfort of your home.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies Radio Voice Jacob Wilkins will call the action.  This is the second "virtual" telecast done by the Rumble Ponies so far. You will need to watch closely to tell if the game is "real" or "virtual" it is that well done.  So, you CAN watch Rumble Ponies baseball tomorrow.

The game features sponsor mentions, upcoming features at the stadium and much of what you would find were you there in person. Lineups have some familiar names and and plenty of new players who are projected to move up the the Double-A level this season.

At this stage no one knows when or if the Rumble Ponies will be able to play. Should the suspension of play end by June 15 they would have lost over two months of their season.
