It is a big weekend for Section 4 and five area high school football teams. These teams will be in action later today and tomorrow at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association sem-final playoffs.  Winners this weekend advance to the state championships next weekend in Syracuse at the Carrier Dome.

Kicking things off at 5 PM today is a Class D battle between Tioga and Randolph at 5 PM.  Randolph is ranked as the number-one team in New York State in D play.  Last year they edged Tioga 7-6 in the semi-final round and went on to win the D title...their third in the last eight seasons.

At 8 PM the Union-Endicott Tigers meet Williamsville North. The Tigers advanced after crushing Carthage last weekend 43-7.  They are playing their best football right now.  Along with a solid defense their explosive offense can put points on the board at any time.  Along with a bruising ground game they have an outstanding passing attack.  The Tigers have two premier wide receivers in Nick Yesensky and C.J.Krowiak and a quarterback who can get the ball to them at anytime in Joey Orlando.

Tomorrow at noon the Chenango Forks Blue Devils meet Cleveland Hill in a class C duel.  Forks is 10-1 and advanced to the semi-final round by defeating General Brown 35-18 last week.

At 3 PM tomorrow the Maine-Endwell Spartans tackle Depew in a class B battle.  M-E, ranked first in New York , is trying to win its third consecutive state championship.  They are riding a 36-game winning streak.  Depew is 9-2 and ranked seventh in the state.

Capping off play tomorrow at 6 PM is the class AA game between the Elmira Express and Aquinas.  Elmira knocked out CBA last weekend to advance to the semi-final round.
