Golfers in the Binghamton area have something to look forward to later this year.

Three Broome County men are planning to develop a state-of-the-art golf training, fitting and fitness center in the Northgate Plaza.

The new venue will be located next to the soon-to-open Fun City Adventure Park, a facility that will feature trampolines and other family-oriented attractions.

Partners Michael Michaelides, Grant Gulick and Robert Gibb say they're excited about the indoor golf center that will help people develop their game.

They'll call the place Apex Golf Foundry. It will occupy about 25,000 square feet in the Northgate Plaza, which has been undergoing a series of renovations over the past couple of years.

Guilick said the center will feature several golf simulators, a gym and entertainment areas. He told WNBF News it will provide a place for anyone whether they are a new golfer or a tour player.

Apex Golf Foundry will be open seven-days-a-week. It will have space for the general public and an area for members.

Gulick said a team has been assembled to work at Apex to help people "learn everything about the game of golf - from the ground up."
