Questions Swirl Around Future of Johnson City Diner
The fate of a video game-themed restaurant which opened in downtown Johnson City three years ago is uncertain.
A town of Binghamton man acquired the closed Red Robin Diner at 268 Main Street four years ago for $210,000.

Taimoor Khan gave the 75-year-old diner a colorful makeover to transform the place into something called 8-Bit Bites.
The restaurant generated some excitement when it opened its doors in August 2023. At the time, 8-Bit Bites had five New York City operations but no upstate locations.
The Main Street property has been listed for sale for several months with an asking price of $550,000.

A person familiar with the situation said Khan has moved out of state but the restaurant was expected to continue operating. But people who work near 8-Bit Bites say the place has been closed in recent days.
No signs indicating the place was closed were observed at the restaurant Friday afternoon but calls to the number listed online for the business were not answered.
Khan did not respond to a voicemail message from WNBF News. A man who answered at his number later hung up when a reporter identified himself.
