The Binghamton Devils battled the Belleville Senators to a 2-2 stalemate through regulation and overtime but fell 3-2 in a shootout when Gabriel Gagne scored in the second round to earn the extra point and ice the win.

Ben Thomson and Brian Strait scored solo goals for the Devils.  Eddie Lack turned aside 32 shots in his first game in net for Binghamton. Lack was acquired by New Jersey from the Calgary Flames in exchange for defenseman Dalton Prout.  Lack was playing for the AHL's Stockton Heat at the time of his acquisition.  He was 1-2-0 with Calgary earlier in the season. He also has NHL experience with Vancouver and Carolina.

The two clubs meet again in Binghamton tomorrow (Friday) night at 7:05.  The Devils are holding a "Guaranteed Win Night".  If they beat Belleville Friday night all fans will receive a free ticket to next (January 10th) Wednesday's home game against the Syracuse Crunch.
