Hockey fans are hoping for the return of the sport they love soon but right now those hopes are just dreams.  The Associated Press reports that according to Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly the NHL has extended its self-quarantine recommendation for players and staff to April 15.  This extends a previous memo recommending self-quarantining until April 4.

The NHL and its teams are hoping to get the green light to begin to skate in small groups once the isolation period ends.  One major problem is dealing with different states and provinces who may end up with varying procedures for public gatherings.

Where does this leave the Binghamton Devils ?  There is no doubt their actions will need to be coordinated through parent team New Jersey and in turn the NHL. Binghamton's regular season is scheduled to end on Saturday, April 11 at home versus Rochester. With the NHL self-quarantine extended to April 15 that is well past Binghamton's last scheduled date.
