West Corners Man Accused of Lying About Not Driving After Crash
State police say a Broome County resident has been arrested following an investigation into a vehicle crash in the town of Union.
Authorities say 27-year-old Aaron Colvin of West Corners has been charged with making a false written statement.
According to investigators, Colvin claimed a friend was driving a vehicle that crashed on Twist Run Road on April 18. He allegedly said the driver fled before police arrived.
Troopers were unable to find anyone nearby and also found no evidence indicating anyone else had been in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Investigators eventually concluded that a written statement signed by Colvin was not true. He has been ordered to appear in Union town court on July 6.
