Binghamton Police Officer Hurt in Crash Involving Patrol Vehicle
Authorities are investigating a collision between a Binghamton police vehicle and a car.
The crash occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Baldwin and Belden streets.
Airbags in the marked police department SUV and a 2006 Jaguar sedan were deployed upon impact.
The police officer reportedly sustained minor injuries. The 68-year-old South Side man who was driving the car said he was shaken and a bit sore.

Police Chief John Ryan said the officer was taken to a hospital for evaluation. The driver of the Jaguar was transported by a neighbor to a hospital to be evaluated.
Ryan said a crash reconstruction team was sent to the scene. He said there's a routine investigation into the collision and an internal police department investigation into the incident.
The man who had been operating the sedan told WNBF News said he had been driving on Belden Street. He said the crash occurred when the police vehicle went through a stop sign on Baldwin Street.
The Jaguar sustained heavy front end damage. The police SUV rear passenger side door was damaged in the collision.
