The Night to Shine prom for residents with special needs is rescheduled for later this month after having to be postponed due to bad weather in February but the group is in serious need of volunteers and drivers.

Organizers say they have lost about 50 percent of their volunteers and their limousine drivers.

The prom is now going to be held March 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Chenango Valley High School.

The event from the Tim Tebow Foundation is hosted by the Chenango Bridge United Methodist Church and gives residents with special needs a chance to be treated to everything that’s magical about a prom including the gowns, tuxedos, flowers, limo rides, music and food. Every guest is given a crown since they are all “kings and queens” and is paired with a “Buddy” to guide them through the experiences of the night.

Anyone interested in helping can go to night2shineCB@gmail.com.

This is the second year the event is being held locally.
