Tim Tebow Foundation to Sponsor Chenango Valley Special Needs Prom
I first learned about Night to Shine through my friend Joell, who is the Night to Shine Coordinator at Grace Baptist Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Joell is the mom of a precious young man who lives with Angelman Syndrome. Since his birth, Joell has worked hard to make sure that her son has every opportunity and happiness and the Night to Shine events that he’s attended have brought so much joy not only to Joell’s son but to others like him who live with special needs.
Night to Shine is a special prom experience for teens and adults who live with special needs and is sponsored in part by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Night to Shine is a fun night filled with music, lights, gowns, tuxedos, great food, ice cream, limo rides, red carpet walks, and even the crowning of Prom King and Queen.
The Night to Shine experience will be coming to Chenango Bridge this year as First United Methodist Church will host this special prom with the help of the Tim Tebow Foundation at the Chenango Valley High School on Friday, February 8, 2019. Up to 75 guests will be allowed to attend at no charge. Also, Night to Shine will have access to prom dresses and suits/jackets for guests to wear. Safety is the top priority and each guest who attends Night to Shine will be assigned a trained buddy who will accompany them through the duration of the night. There will also be police officers and EMT personnel on hand.
If you know a special needs teen or adult who would like to participate, don’t wait to register! Remember that only 75 guests will be able to participate, so you’ll want to register quickly.
On his website for the Tim Tebow Foundation, Tim Tebow writes, “We would not be able to accomplish our mission without God’s blessings and the support of our generous donors and partners...We hope that you will consider joining our team through prayer and financial support to help change lives. Together we WILL make a difference!” If you would like to help grow Night to Shine in our community either through fundraising efforts or through a financial donation, you can learn how to do that here.
