Millions of dollars will be provided by the state to develop a flexible hybrid electronics manufacturing project in Endicott.

Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that $20 million will help to support Binghamton University in an initiative to retrofit space at the former IBM Endicott complex.

The state funding is the first allocation from the $500 million in economic revitalization money previously approved for the Southern Tier region.

Lockheed Martin and i3 Electronics are participating in the project.

The $20 million designated for the project at the Endicott site is to be provided over the next five years.
