Sea Dogs Explode on Rumble Ponies in Series Opener
The Portland Sea Dogs crushed the Binghamton Rumble Ponies 20-2 in the opener of a four-game series at NYSEG Stadium on Friday night. The loss drops Binghamton's record to 30-19. With the win the Sea Dogs move to 17-34. The Rumble Ponies are now at 9-11 in games at NYSEG Stadium.
Binghamton ace Anthony Kay on a pitch count left the game after 4.2 innings of work and down 2-0. He departed with two runners on base. Those runners later scored so the line on Kay ended up with four runs, seven hits and his record drops to 6-3.
The Rumble Ponies and Sea Dogs meet again in a doubleheader this (Saturday) afternoon. The first game gets underway at 5:35 P.M. On air coverage begins with the pre-game show from NYSEG Stadium at 5:20 P.M.
