
Rumble Ponies Look for Lightning Against the Thunder
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are hoping for some lightning in their bats tonight when they meet the Trenton Thunder in Trenton at 7:00 P.M (air at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF). In the series opener on Tuesday night Trenton topped Binghamton 7-3. The win ups Trenton's overall record to 40-29. They are 2 games behind the Eastern Division-leading New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Binghamton drops to 34-35 and now stands 8 games out of first place in the East.
The Rumble Ponies send Marcos Molina to the mound tonight. He is 1-7 with an ERA of 5.58. Countering for the Thunder is Domingo Acevedo who is 1-1 with and ERA of 3.42.
The seven-game losing streak is Binghamton's longest since May of 2016 when they dropped eight straight.
The last time the Rumble Ponies were below .500 was May 12 when they were 16-17.
The teams conclude the series in Trenton tomorrow night with another 7:00 P.M. contest. The Ponies return home Friday night to start a seven-game homestand when they host the Hartford Yard Goats at 7:05 P.M.
