Rumble Ponies Head South to Face Flying Squirrels
Binghamton wrapped-up its series with the Trenton Thunder on Memorial Day with an 11-2 loss. Like their parent team the New York Yankees the Thunder powered their way to victory. The young Yankees' prospects slammed four home runs including a pair from first baseman Brandon Wagner. Tommy Wilson made his first start on the mound as a Rumble Pony and took the loss.
Trenton and the Rumble Ponies split the weekend series as they did in Trenton last weekend. They will meet for one more series coming up June 11-13 at NYSEG Stadium. With Monday's win Trenton ups its record to 29-19 while the Rumble Ponies drop to 27-18. Heading into Monday night's action it remains quite a race in the Eastern League's Eastern Division. Trenton has the lead by one-half game over the Rumble Ponies. In third place is Reading...one game out of first place and then Hartford in fourth place but just two games out of a tie for first place. What a race !!!!
