The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are catching a break in the incessant rain and poor weather conditions that have plagued them and other Eastern League teams this early season. After an over two hour rain delay prior to yesterday's doubleheader in Portland, Maine the teams got underway on time this (Saturday) afternoon at Hadlock Field.  Partly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60's greeted the teams and fans at today's game.

David Peterson makes the start for the Rumble Ponies and brings a 2-0 record with an ERA of 2.03 into the game.  Last night the teams split a doubleheader with Binghamton winning the first game 12-5 and the Sea Dogs coming back for the nightcap 5-3.

Rumble Ponies infielder Will Toffey has hit safely in 11 consecutive games and enters today's contest batting .254. Barrett Barnes drove in five runs to pace Binghamton's offense in the 12-5 victory in game one last night.

The teams close out the weekend series with a doubleheader on Sunday.  The first game is scheduled for a 1:00 P.M. start (air at 12:45 on New Radio 1290 WNBF)..  Following an off day on Monday Binghamton will play three straight in Harrisburg before returning home to host New Hampshire on Friday night.
