In information supplied by the Binghamton Rumble Ponies Richard Tylicki, Director of Stadium Operations for the Rumble Ponies and a Lieutenant Colonel in the Pennsylvania National Guard has been honored by the Eastern League and Minor League Baseball.  Tylicki has been named the winner of the second annual Charles K. Murphy Patriot Award.

The Charles K. Murphy Patriot Award honors a team or individual in Minor League Baseball who has shown extraordinary support for veterans and the United States Armed Forces.  It was created in 2016 to honor the longtime Florida State League president who retired from duty as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army.

Tylicki has had a remarkable career balancing work with the Rumble Ponies and before that the Binghamton Mets and his military career.  He has been with Binghamton baseball since 1995 when he served as an intern.  He has been the Director of Stadium Operations for 23 seasons.

Tylicki was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army National Guard in 1992 and is now the Commanding Officer for the 1st Squadron, 104th Cavalry Regiment.  Over his military career he has been honored with 23 medals including the Bronze Star for meritorious service in a combat zone and the Meritorious Service MedaL for exceptional service in support of Command and Staff in Kuwait in 2013.
