Remembering Bethanie Dougherty: Candlelight Vigil Planned For April 1st
April 1st, 2008, around 10 p.m. was the date and time that Bethanie Dougherty's family last saw her at home on Jennings Creek Road, Killawog, New York. That was 17 years ago. The investigation is on-going.
According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, Bethanie could not be located, despite her car keys, cell phone, and purse all still found in her home. The New York State Police joined in the search due to residents reporting hearing someone possibly screaming in the area.
New York State Police patrols checked the area, but nothing was located, although a vehicle described as a mid-to-late 1990s Chevy S-10 style pick-up truck was reported in the area at the time of Dougherty's disappearance.
