
Power Off Around Hazardous Materials Crash in Chenango Bridge
New York State Electric and Gas has responded to the area around a crash involving a tractor trailer carrying hazardous materials at Interstate 88, Exit 2 in Chenango Bridge and says power is off to residents in the evacuation area.
NYSEG says the power interruption for the customers in the quarter mile radius around Exit 2 will continue until further notice.
Detour information from Broome County Government officials is as follows, All lanes are blocked at the beginning of I88 East-Interstate 81 North split.
188 East traffic will continue on 181 North to Route 12 in Greene/ Route 206 then back onto I88 via the Exit 8 on-ramp.
I88 West traffic is being detoured in Harpursville (Exit 6) onto Route 79 to Route 17 (Windsor) to I86 into Binghamton.
There is word traffic cannot get to Port Dickinson/ Hillcrest via the Brandywine Highway and should use Chenango Street.
MOTORISTS SHOULD HEED ALL EMERGENCY PERSONNEL AND BARRICADES.
