Plane Touches Down at Binghamton Airport Without Landing Gear

Emergency crews were dispatched to the Greater Binghamton Airport after a small plane reportedly encountered landing gear problems.

The alert for the situation at the town of Maine airport was issued around 5:50 p.m. Wednesday.

According to WBNG 12 News, aviation commissioner Mark Heefner said the aircraft "landed on its belly."

Reports indicated the plane came in on Runway 34, the airport's main runway.

The two people who were on the aircraft were said to have been uninjured.

Shortly after the airport alert was issued, most fire departments and ambulance squads were advised not to respond because the situation was under control.

No information was immediately available on the aircraft involved in the incident or where the flight originated.
