Binghamton Police Investigate Reported Shooting at City Residence
A man wanted in connection with a shooting on Binghamton's South Side has been taken into custody.
Police were sent to Park Avenue near Morgan Road around 11:40 a.m. Sunday to investigate a report of a man armed with a handgun.
Before officers arrived in the area just north of the Ross Park Zoo, at least one shot had been fired in a single-family residence.

A woman reportedly sustained a minor injury in the incident.
Police sealed off an area around a house at 162 Park Avenue with yellow crime tape.
A section of Park Avenue between Bayless Avenue and Maria Manor was closed for a time as officers secured the scene of the shooting.

Police were told the shooting suspect fled the area on an e-bike. He was found a short time later on private property off Park Avenue near a town of Binghamton fire station. He was taken into custody without incident.
Binghamton police and Broome County sheriff's deputies searched the area off a dirt road where the suspect was located.

Detectives were not available Monday afternoon to discuss the shooting investigation.
People with information about the shooting may contact the Binghamton police detective division at 607-772-7080.
