19-Unit Apartment House Rising in Binghamton’s First Ward
Construction is moving forward on a three-story residential and commercial building in Binghamton.
The project at 41 Clinton Street is being developed by the First Ward Action Council.
The site is on one of two-dozen properties that wound up being owned by the city as the result of a 2023 legal settlement with Brooklyn developer Isaac Anzaroot.

Construction crews started working on the southeast corner of Clinton and Murray streets last January.
First Ward Action Council executive director Jerry Willard on Thursday indicated the project is proceeding on schedule.
The building will have 19 apartments on the second and third floors. There will be two commercial spaces on the ground floor.
Residents could start moving into the complex in the summer of 2027. A lottery may be held to select potential tenants from the applications received for the building.
The Clinton Street building is part of what's being called the Gateway Revitalization Project.

Under the initiative, a new house will be constructed nearby on Front Street. Four other existing residential structures will be renovated.
Older houses on Dickinson Street, Winding Way and Mather Street also are to be restored as part of the project.
