The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team is off to the program's second-best start ever.  Tonight (Thursday) they face a major test on that perfect slate as they travel to Ithaca to meet the Cornell Big Red. Cornell is 5-2, has won for straight games and is unbeaten at home this season.  In the Big Red's last outing they defeated UMass Lowell out of America East 70-57.  They had their Sunday game versus Lafayette cancelled because of dangerous travel conditions.

The Bearcats earned wins over St. Bonaventure and Eastern Michigan in their last two outings. BU is led by senior guard Kai Moon who is averaging 24 points per game and has won America East Player of the Week honors the last two weeks.

The teams have met on the hardwood a total of 18 times with Binghamton having a 10-8 advantage in the series. Last year the Bearcats defeated the Big Red 72-61 at the Events Center.

Following tonight's game the Bearcats don't play again until Tuesday, December 17 when they visit the University of Miami for a 7:00 PM game.  BU then stays in Florida to take part in the Florida International lnvitational Tournament The Bearcats next home game is Monday, December 30 versus NJIT at 7:00 PM.
