People seeking some sweet treats in Johnson City can look forward to visiting a business that's setting up operations on Main Street in the village.

Gabriella LoPiccolo-Gregory has been working for months to prepare the site at 265 Main Street.

Gabriella's Cakes & Co. will provide a storefront location for the business LoPiccolo-Gregory has been operating in the town of Maine in recent years. She's been the pastry chef for Frank's Italian Restaurant, which is owned by her father.

Plans call for the retail portion of the Johnson City site to open February 11 for a four-day period around Valentine's Day. The shop is expected to move to regular hours shortly after that.

LoPiccolo-Gregory said she's received plenty of assistance from her parents as she works to set up the shop.

The business will feature cupcakes, specialty desserts and grab-and-go cakes. Coffee and some specialty drinks also will be available.

The shop will be located at Main and North Broad streets. The location is across the street from the former Red Robin Diner.
