Classes for students at the Crescent Academy for their first school year in Endicott have concluded.

The Broome County Islamic school acquired the former All Saints Catholic School property on Broad Street and two adjacent parcels from the Catholic Schools of Broome County last August. The purchase price was $1.3 million.

Misbah Qidwai, president of the Crescent Academy board of directors, said things have been going well at the school's new site in Endicott. He said "It's been great."

Qidwai told WNBF News that he believes the school will be "part of bringing back life" to Endicott.

The Crescent Academy is located one block west of Washington Avenue, which recently underwent a major reconstruction project.

The Crescent Academy was founded in 2006. It had outgrown its original site on Endicott Avenue in Johnson City.

The school has space to grow at its new location in the village of Endicott.

The building was constructed for about $500,000 for Seton Catholic High School. Seton held classes there from 1957 to 1976 when it merged with Catholic Central High School in Binghamton.

The site was home to All Saints Catholic School from 2010 until June 2025 when it was closed due to declining enrollment.

The Crescent Academy's enrollment includes students in pre-K, kindergarten as well as grade one through eight.

The school's new outdoor sign at the corner of Broad Street and Jefferson Avenue was installed last week.
