Cannabis Shop Near Binghamton University Campus Now Open

A new cannabis retail outlet has opened its doors at the site of a long-time Vestal business.

The former White Rose Day Spa on Vestal Road was renovated to clear the way for the Canna Blooms dispensary.

Display, office and security areas were built as part of the construction project. Several surveillance cameras were installed inside and outside the building.

The new shop, which opened a few days ago, is located just north of the Binghamton University Innovative Technologies Complex.

Karen Latta, who had owned White Rose Day Spa, closed the business last November.

The property was acquired by a Long Island-based entity for $685,000. State cannabis regulators issued a dispensary license to Gift Leaf 676 LLC to operate the new business.

A Canna Blooms employee told WNBF News the store is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.

According to the Canna Blooms website, one of the best-selling products is Smart Bud "Girl Scout Cookies." The list price for a one ounce cookie is $90.

There currently are two legal cannabis stores operating in Vestal. Licenses have been granted for two more shops on the Vestal Parkway.

There now are nearly 700 licensed cannabis dispensaries in New York state.
