The Jewish Community Center is getting ready to go to the dogs this weekend.

Dogapalooza is being held Sunday, August 28 from noon to 4 p.m. at the JCC at 500 Clubhouse Road in Vestal.  The event is free for human and canine residents.

All dogs participating must be considered friendly with people and other dogs and up to date on vaccinations.

Local rescue organizations will be on hand along with games and face painting in the kids’ area, dog/owner contests, pet photography, vendors, food for purchase, a doggie bakery, music and, for people not ready to commit to a real pet yet, a stuffed dog adoption center.

T-shirt orders can be placed in advance by calling (607) 724-2414 and will also be available for purchase at Dogapalooza.

Portions of the proceeds benefit the Broome County Humane Society, Every Dog’s Dream Adoption, Hubbards Hounds Dog Rescue, Southern Tier Animal Rescue and Pibbles & More Animal Rescue.  Additional donations to the groups will also be accepted.

For more information, contact Mary Gates at (607) 724-2417 or online at www.binghamtonjcc.org.
