JC Police Find Cocaine, Meth, Pills After Pulling Over Vestal Man
A Vestal man was sent to Broome County Jail after Johnson City police seized drugs in a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation.
According to a police department news release, 37-year-old David Wiggins was pulled over by officers around 11 p.m. Friday. The release did not indicate where the traffic stop occurred.
Officers said they observed "narcotics residue" and a scale used in drug packaging and sales.
The vehicle Wiggins had been driving was searched. Police said they found crack cocaine and methamphetamine, along with several dozen Clonazepam pills.
Wiggins faces five felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. He also was charged with criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Wiggins was taken into custody and then taken to the Broome County central arraignment facility. He was ordered held at the jail in the town of Dickinson.
