Food Bank Marks Hunger Action Day

The Food Bank of the Southern Tier is marking Hunger Action Day September 8 with 12 hours of volunteering.

Organizers say the event will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Food Bank headquarters in Elmira.

More than 100 volunteers sort and pack food items or assemble packs for the BackPack Program.

The Food Bank also asked people to wear or display orange to show support for hunger relief.
