First Jersey Mike’s Subs Shop in Binghamton Market Opens
A Jersey Mike's Subs shop in the town of Chenango attracted a hungry crowd on its opening day.
Workers were busy Wednesday as customers lined up inside the new business at 1257 Front Street. The spot in the small retail plaza had been vacant in recent months after a Hoopla Frozen Yogurt store closed.
The operation is the first Jersey Mike's Subs unit in the Binghamton area but additional stores in the region are expected to open in the next few years.
The chain has been expanding rapidly and has started running national advertising campaigns to introduce its brand prospective new customers.
According to the Jersey Mike's Subs website, there are 1,981 stores now open in the United States. The company is expected to open its 2,000th store later this year.
