Endicott Woman Accused of Taking Bike on Long Test-Ride
An Endicott woman is accused of taking a bicycle on a really long test-ride.
Broome County Sheriff’s officials say the resident on Route 26 in Union Center who was looking to sell the bike said he allowed 53 year old Donna Reitz to take a ride June 8 but she didn’t come back and had left her car in the bike owner’s driveway with her friend sleeping inside.
After ten hours, Deputies arrived and found the friend still sleeping in the car along with drug paraphernalia and suboxone, which is used to treat opiate addiction.
Reitz finally returned the bicycle after a couple of days.
Once the bicycle was returned, the owner declined to press larceny charges but Reitz was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
