Endicott Man Charged After Dispute in North Side Residence
Police have arrested a village man following a disturbance at a home on Endicott's North Side.
Authorities say 27-year-old Derrick Thompson was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and menacing.
Police officers were sent to a two-family house at 203 Squires Avenue late Monday afternoon to investigate a domestic disturbance.
After police arrived at the home, there was a report that the man involved in the dispute may have been in possession of a handgun.
Additional officers were dispatched to the scene because of the possibility that a weapon had been displayed.
Police Chief Patrick Garey said a starter pistol was found during a search of the residence.
No serious injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Thompson was arraigned and ordered held in Broome County Jail on $5,000 bail.
