Doug’s Sports Rap: Week Five
The first loss for the Super Bowl Champs, and Franchise Quarterback Dak Prescott is out for the season, this is week five.
It wasn’t in Vegas, and the news for Chiefs fans was not good as Kansas City’s 13 game win steak came to an end against a Raider’s defense that stopped Mahomes and the Chiefs offense, just enough to beat the reigning champions 40-32.
The New York Giants once again could not stop the opposing team, and get off the field in 3rd down situations, as the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Giants 37-34 on a last second filed goal. The Cowboys are in first place in the NFC East, but they lost Dak Prescott for the season, out with a fracture to his right ankle. Veteran QB Andy Dalton will take over for Prescott.
The return of Washington Quarterback Alex Smith after 393 days did little to help the nameless franchise, as they fell to the LA Rams 30-10.
The Jets are once again sitting in the AFC East basement, as they fell to the Arizona Cardinals 30-10.
The Seattle Seahawks staged a fourth quarter drive in the last seconds of the game as Russell Wilson threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to DK Metcalf to beat the Vikings 27-26.
The Miami Dolphins buried the 49ers as Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns in a 43-17 rout.
The Carolina Panthers were victorious over the winless Atlanta Falcons 23-16, and the Steelers remain among the unbeaten with a 38-29 win over the Eagles.
The Baltimore Ravens are mirroring their best franchise start as the Ravens defense forced two turnovers and sacked Joe Burrow seven times in a 27-3 spanking of the Cincinnati Bengals.
Deshaun Watson had a great performance with a season high 359 yards that included three touchdowns and the Houston Texans got their first win of the season over the Jacksonville Jaguars 30-14.
Baker Mayfield and the much-improved Cleveland Browns have won their fourth straight, and they did it against the number one defense, with a little defense of their own with a safety and a pick six interception in a32-23 win over the Indianapolis Colts.
Tonight’s games are Denver at New England and LA Chargers at New Orleans
The Bills and Titans will play on Tuesday Night.
And that’s week five…. Go (Insert Your Team)!
