Doug’s Sports Rap: NFL Week Seven

Here’s a look at week seven in the NFL as more undefeated teams fall along with a few surprise winners.

Here I am sitting in front of my desk on a dark and early Monday morning, trying to wrap my head around the fact that my 1 and 6 New York Giants are only a game and a half out of first place the NFC East.

Special thanks to the Washington (no Name) Football Team for knocking off the Cowboys yesterday  in a 25 to 3 spanking, in all fairness the C-Boys, who are without Dak Prescott also lost back up veteran Andy Dalton to an illegal hit to the head in the third quarter, and ended with third string rookie QB Ben DiNucci.

The battle of the AFC undefeated went to Big Ben and the Pittsburgh Steelers who got off to a big lead and were able to hold off the Tennessee Titans with a 27-24 victory.

The lone NFC’s undefeated team is no more after a thrilling overtime 37-34 win that came down to a 48 yard Arizona field goal with 20 seconds left by the Arizona Cardinals to hand the Seahawks their first loss this season.

The Buffalo Bills had a hard time with the New York Jets, but managed to pull it off in the fourth quarter with a 18 to 10 victory over the winless (0-7) Jets.

The Cleveland Browns are back on track adding another win to their now 5 and 2 record, Baker Mayfield threw five touchdown passes, one of those came with just seconds left to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals 37-34.

The Saints overcame some injuries to the offense and Drew Brees led New Orleans to a 26-24 victory over the Carolina Panthers.

49ers Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo threw two interceptions against his former NFL team, but San Francisco still managed to destroy the New England Patriots 33-6.

The Kansas City Chiefs showed their championship form putting on a clinic with a 43 to 10 blowout over the Denver Broncos at fringed Mile High Stadium, KC improved to 6 and one.

The NFL’s old man Tom Brady had another hall of fame day in a 45-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders Brady’s four touchdown passes and one run in as the 43 year old moved ahead of Drew Brees for the most TD’s on NFL history (this is not over yet both QB’s are still active).

Another future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers helped Green Bay rebound from last weeks loss with four touchdowns passes, as Davante Adams added 196 yards and two touchdowns to the Packers 35-20 win over the Houston Texans.

The Detroit Lions used every second of the clock as Mathew Stafford threw a Touch Down Pass to T.J. Hockenson as time expired to defeat the Atlanta Falcons 23-22.

And finally the LA Chargers break their four game losing streak with a 39-29 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
