Doug’s Sports Rap: Week 8

Week eight placed another loss in the Jets winless season and they were manhandled by the reining Superbowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs 35-9, nuff said.

There is only one unbeaten team in the NFL at that is the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Ben Roethlisberger led a comeback in the seconds half to defeat the Baltimore Ravens 28-24 and take command of the AFC North.

The Buffalo Bills finally beat the Patriots on their home field for the first time since 2011, with a 24-21 win, New England had a chance to tie or win with a touchdown in the final minutes but Cam Newton coughed up the ball with seconds remaining to secure the victory.

The Philadelphia Eagles are rising to the top of the pathetic NFC east with a convincing 12-9  win over division foes the Dallas Cowboys.

The Miami Dolphins upset the Ram in a convincing 28-17 win, the Dolphins number one draft pick Tua Tagovailoa completed his first touchdown pass, the game included a 75 yard fumble return by the Dolphin’s Andrew Van Ginkel.

The Green Bay Packers remain at the top of the NFC North in spite of a 28-22 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints defeated the Chicago Bears 26-23 with a 51 yard field goal by Cairo Santos in overtime.

The Indianapolis Colts blew out the Detroit Lions 41-21 as Phillip Rivers and the Colt Offense put up three touchdowns in the third quarter.

The come back game of the week saw the Denver Broncos rally from a 24-3 deficit, quarterback Drew Lock threw a touchdown to KJ Hamler as the clock ran out and the Broncos shocked the Chargers 31-30

Cincinnati’s Joe Burrow threw a pair of touchdown passes in the fourth quarter as the Bengals defeated the Tennessee Titans 31-20.

It only took three field goals and a touchdown for the Las Vegas Raiders to defeat the Cleveland Browns 16-6, the Browns may have lost their star defensive end and NFL sacks leader Myles Garrett to a knee injury in the first half.

The Seattle Seahawks put away the 49ers in a 27-27 victory the NFL’s candidate for MVP Russell Wilson threw four touchdown passes and is one shy of Tom Brady’s record for the most in the first seven games of a season.

Tonight Brady and the Bucs will take on the worst of the NFC East, The 1-6 New York Giants
